"I wanted to let you know that we did a family cruise in April of 2007 with our 2 kids. The cruise left Baltimore and it was 9 days to the Carribeans. I have to say that it was a really really bad experience. It was with Royal Carribean cruise. We had adjoining rooms because of nap issues and we figured that with the rooms being so small it would be a good idea. The problems were that we all got sea sick including my then 14 month old. She was so miserable for about 1/3 of the trip b/c of the boat rocking. We were able to drop my son off at the children's center (for those 3 and up) a couple of times. But there really wasn't that many stuff to do with the young ones like my daughter's age. We were on the ship 2 days each way to our destination. It just seemed really long. Because our kids went to sleep so early (around 8pm) a lot of the stuff were more geared towards the older crowd (w/o kids). We didn't participate in a lot of that. also, there wasn't that many different restaurants on board. So we tried to eat at the formal dining room but it was hard with 2 kids.
Dinner was just too long for them. We even went with our in laws. I think for the amount of money we spent, it was really really bad. But that's my take on it. Maybe when they are alittle older I would do it again with Disney. I heard that the kids have fun on those. But in general it was really hard b/c there just wasn't that many places to take the children while on board."

Welcome to Parents Start Here!
Mama Sprout here! As a Mom, I am overwhelmed by all the things out there for and about kids and family! Where to start? What are the most important things needed? What fits our needs the best? What's healthy behavior? What are "normal" bodily functions? In order to make informed decisions, I talk to alot of parents and I've joined online parent groups.
