Welcome to Parents Start Here!
Mama Sprout here! As a Mom, I am overwhelmed by all the things out there for and about kids and family! Where to start? What are the most important things needed? What fits our needs the best? What's healthy behavior? What are "normal" bodily functions? In order to make informed decisions, I talk to alot of parents and I've joined online parent groups.

The most important thing I want to talk about is how the airlines are not accommodating at all for breastfeeding moms. I travelled Continetal Airlines, out of Newark Airport to Michigan for Thanksgiving. The flight was delayed about 4 hrs because the crew was not there. Therefore, I needed to either breastfeed my 4 month old or pump. Unfortunately there really was no place to do either. I ended up spending 1 hr talking to a customer service rep, the hostess in the Continental lounge and 2 managers. All had given me the options of feeding her in the family restroom (no place to sit, except the toilet, or the waiting area. Finally, after causing a huge stink, 1 managers' gave me the options of either using his office or if the room for group travellers was not occupied, I could use that. Thankfully the group room was not being used and I was able to BF my baby there. Also, if I did end up resorting to giving her a bottle, there is no place to warm a bottle... If airlines want families to fly they really need to start re-thinking their customer service strategies. Even Adults have restaurants to eat, smokers get a area to smoke, but babies don't get a room to be fed.
